A bit more about me…

You won’t find my biggest strength as a therapist on the resume or CV I’ve spent 15 years painstakingly building (hello perfectionism!). Rather, my real strength in this role comes from my time "on the couch."

In the therapy world, you often hear about the concept of "wounded healers”—an archetype that suggests that those who have confronted their own struggles and vulnerabilities can bring a unique depth and understanding to the healing process.

I am not exempt from life's challenges, nor would I say I’m “healed”…far from it. My healing journey has been a series of phases: periods that feel like a rock bottom, punctuated by bursts of progress and insight, followed by a plateau of integration and relative stability. Then, eventually, I confront the limits of my current iteration (often painfully), and the cycle begins again.

Going through this process again and again has helped me learn that healing—as is life—is a gradual unfolding that doesn’t have an ultimate destination. It's not about the quick fixes and shortcuts Instagram and TikTok are trying to sell us.

  • It’s about feeling truly seen and unconditionally accepted by another attuned human being.

  • It’s about learning to accept (and even embrace) the messiness of life.

  • It’s about prioritizing the connection with yourself, your loved ones, and your community despite the (often understandable) temptation to isolate and numb.

  • It’s about cultivating patience, curiosity, consistency, and compassion in a culture that so often rewards and breeds urgency, detachment, dopamine fixes, and polarization.

I'm not here to be the expert on your life; you are. My role is to hold up a mirror, helping you to see and understand yourself in new ways, and to help you make space for your full humanness. One of the greatest privileges of my life has been to stand by my incredible clients as they navigate the murky waters of the human experience. I'm in awe of the wisdom, healing potential, and compassion we all have inside, even if it's been buried for a while.

Being a therapist has shown me the truths of our shared humanity—we’re all craving purpose, belonging, and love, and, more often than not, truly doing the best we can with the inner and outer resources available at the time.

But, we all need a little help from time to time, and it’s my honor to extend my hand to you.
